Come join us this Thursday, November 17th, at the IECFUG for a fantastic presentation by Dave Ferguson on mobile application development with ColdFusion.
"Mobile development is a largely moving target. New devices and device sizes are appearing almost daily. This makes application development for mobile devices difficult. This is where mobile browsers come in to save the day. This session will focus on creating browser-based apps for virtually any mobile device. This session will show you how to create a basic browser-based application. Then, utilizing ColdFusion, we will enhance the features of the application."
We will have prizes to give away along with the usual free food, drinks, and networking. Don’t miss out, it should be a great night full of ColdFusion goodness.

This Thursday, September 8th, the IECFUG is proud to host Jim Spoonmore, who will be talking to us about CouchDB. For those who are unfamiliar with CouchDB, this is a wonderful opportunity to get a free crash course on what it is, and how it can work for your applications.

"Apache CouchDB is a document-oriented database that can be queried
and indexed
in a MapReduce fashion using JavaScript. CouchDB also offers incremental
replication with bi-directional conflict detection and resolution.
CouchDB provides a RESTful JSON API than can be accessed from any
environment
that allows HTTP requests."

This Thursday, July 14th, Jospeh Lamoree with be talking to us about Jenkins, which is an amazing set of continuous integration services. If you're doing integration testing for your apps Jenkins is an invaluable tool that helps automate the testing process.

I definitely recommend this session for anyone who's interested in automating their test processes. Proper testing is a fundamental for creating enterprise level high-grade applications, and Jenkins makes the process quite manageable.
As always, there will also be free food, drinks, and networking for all. Don't miss out.

We are pleased to announce that Dave Ferguson will be talking about ColdFusion security.
Security is something that all ColdFusion developers should be concerned about and Dave will be educating us about how to make our servers and our applications more resistant to online threats. It will definitely be a session that you'll take a lot away from, and will likely impact the way you think about application security.
Dave is an Adobe Community Professional and a security expert. To find out more you can visit his blog: http://blog.dkferguson.com. And don't forget to catch the CF Hour podcast (http://www.cfhour.com).
